This piece was painted from reference photos I took heading east on 1-70 through Utah. We were heading into a huge thunderstorm...it was frightening but so beautiful with the light on the distant mesa contrasting against the dark sky. I just loved the drama of the scene. This painting was included in the 2012 Salon International Juried Exhibition in San Antonio, Texas.
