The majority of this piece was painted "en plein air" (on location) next to the John Dunn Bridge on the Rio Grande just west of Arroyo Hondo, New Mexico. The end of this road was a launch for kayaks...several were there unloading their gear as we were painting. I chose to leave them out and focus on the enchanting colors, light, shadows and atmosphere in the canyon.
