I took my first trip through Zion National Park in May, 2010 and cannot wait to go back. The breathtaking scenery completely changes around every bend in the road. Surreal rock formations swirl and twist and reach for the heavens. We only had two days here so I opted to take lots of reference photos instead of painting "en plein air" there. I will be spending much more time at Zion in the next couple of years, painting and capturing the majest of this enchanted place. This painting has been accepted into the Salon International 2011 Juried Exhibition at Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio, Texas, April 2nd through 22nd, 2011.
