This is one of the largest studio paintings I've attempted. I've always wanted to tackle a painting of the Grand Canyon. I had the chance to visit there in May 2010 just for an overnight stay. The sunset was gorgeous...just enchanting. I loved the way the light filtered through the many layers of the canyon, and how the distant land forms seemed to dissolve in the streaming late day light. The light and shadow patterns were so much fun to paint!
