This piece was accepted into the prestigious Salon International 2009 Juried Exhibition at Greenhouse Gallery, San Antonio, Texas, where it won an Honorable Mention Award for Artistic Excellence. It was also accepted into the Oil Painters of America Western Regional Juried Exhibition at Howard Mandville Gallery, Kirkland, Washington in August 2009. It was painted in the studio from reference photos and a small plein air study I did on location in Laguna Beach, California. The light and atmosphere were simply stunning...it was such a gorgeous day!
