This piece was painted during the 2008 Carmel Art Festival Plein Air Competition. This is in Garrapata, along the Big Sur Coast, just north of the spot where I painted "Heaven on Earth." Both pieces were painted on the same day. The colors on the hillside and the shadows on the cliffs were so beautiful...I just had to paint them.
