Carmel Plein Air Festival Location: Carmel, California Event Dates: 5/15/2008 - 5/18/2008 Reception: 5/17/2008 •
I very pleased to announce that I have been juried into the Carmel Plein Air Festival this year. Due to the economic conditions in California the event had been postponed until next year (2009), but it was just announced that the event WILL go on as planned THIS year. Artists will be painting around the Monterey Peninsula in California during the event, which will culminate in an auction of the works created. This is the first exhibition of the 2008-2010 "Far and Near Horizons: A World Tour of Contemporary Landscape Artists." This exhibit will be held at the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park Fine Art Gallery in Estes Park, Colorado. "Far and Near Horizons" is a collaboration between two internationally known art organizations, International Plein Air Painters and Landscape Artists International. The tour will exist simultaneously on the internet and in brick and mortar venues in the US, Canada and Europe. This is the second exhibition of the 2008-2010 "Far and Near Horizons: A World Tour of Contemporary Landscape Artists." The exhibit will be held at the Old School House Art Center in Qualicum Beach, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The World Tour is a collaboration between International Plein Air Painters and Landscape Artists International. I was one of only eight additional artists juried in to the 2008-2010 tour, bringing the total number of participating artists from all over the world to 26. The tour will exist simulateously on the internet and in a series of brick and mortar venues throughout the next two years.
